Kylie announced as National Album Day Ambassador!

Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue has been announced as a 2021 National Album Day ambassador!

Kylie joins Sharleen Spiteri, Laura Mvula, Ray BLK, and Joy Crookes as ambassadors for 2021, and will be celebrating with a reissue of her iconic album 'Fever', which was released on 1 October 2001.

Today, Oct 1, marks 20 years since the release of the Kylie Minogue’s classic, multi-platinum album Fever.

The album, originally released on October 1, 2001, heralded an especially buoyant phase of Kylie’s career. The massive global success of the genre-defining lead single Can’t Get You Out Of My Head meant that expectations for Fever were particularly high and the reception to the album was ecstatic.

Fever immediately topped the charts in five countries, including the UK and Kylie’s native Australia. It also achieved huge success in the USA, where it reached No 3 in the Billboard chart; eventually it would be certified 5x platinum in the UK and 7x platinum in Australia. It also won Best International Album at the 2002 Brit awards.

To celebrate the anniversary of this classic album, a special 20^th anniversary limited-edition will be released on white vinyl, including a unique print; the new edition will also be available on a frosted recycled clear cassette. A silver vinyl format and a range of bespoke Fever merchandise will also be available for purchase exclusively from Kylie.com. All 20^th anniversary editions are limited and will be available on October 15 in the UK and Australia, and the rest of the world on November 19. In further recognition of the re-issue of Fever and Kylie’s current success with her album Disco, Kylie has been confirmed as one of five female artists to champion their love of the album format as an ambassador for National Album Day, 2021, which this year falls on Oct 16 – and is presented in conjunction with BBC Sounds and Bowers & Wilkins.
