The National Album Day Podcast launches with Ellie Gibson & Jonny Simon in conversation with Carl Barât
National Album Day are partnering with content creators Muddy Knees Media – producers of podcasts including The Totally Football Show and You're Dead To Me – to launch our first podcast!
The ‘National Album Day Podcast’ is hosted by Ellie Gibson (Scummy Mummies) with Jonny Simon in conversation with special guest Carl Barât (Carl Barât and The Jackals, Dirty Pretty Things, The Libertines), who shares his thoughts on how we develop our musical tastes through album listening, and how we pass our love of the album down to our children. The podcast focuses on the appeal (or otherwise) of Fleetwood Mac Rumours.
The half-hour show goes out this Friday, 11th October at 2.00pm, and will be available on all major outlets including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Audioboom. Just search for the National Album Day Podcast.
Musician Carl Barât said: "I think it’s important to have a National Album Day so that people don’t lose the art of listening to an album as a whole. If you hear a song you like, or a playlist, that’s like a trailer for a movie. It’s the signpost to send you to the album. That’s when you get the journey, you get to immerse yourself in a world that the artist has created. If you want that experience or you want to go a bit deeper, that’s what albums are for.”
